We hope you’ve been taking a lot of good pictures on your rides, vacations and trips because we warned you that our next Bike of the Month Contest would be travel themed. Starting Sept. 1st, you’ll be able to submit your bike photos for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate from British Customs.
Although it would be great to see bikes at the Great Wall of China, Statue of Liberty or the Colosseum, photos just need to have your Triumph with any kind of famous landmark or tourist spot. If you don’t have any good recent pictures, please feel free to submit older pictures from previous trips.
We know our customers can get creative with their custom bikes, let’s see how creative you guys can get with these photos and this contest. Check out the photo idea above.
For more details on the contest, please visit this page.

Ricki Bedenbaugh recently directed this great video of a cafe racer on empty streets in Downtown LA and Long Beach. While it’s not a Triumph, we thought all cafe racers would enjoy seeing this short. Ricki focuses most of his talents on skateboarding projects, but we really enjoyed his first motorcycle video! Congrats, Ricki!
This Yamaha SR500 was built by Lossa Engineering and featured on the first season of Cafe Racer TV. We can’t wait to see what he comes up with for his next project.
Triumph has announced that it is recalling certain model 2011-2012 Sprint GT, Tiger 800 and Tiger 800XC motorcycles due to a top box problem. Only 134 motorcycles have been affected.
The top box locking handle is missing a clip on the locking system for bikes manufactured from June 2010 through 2011. The top box may detach from the bike, increasing the chances of a crash.
Triumph Dealers will install a new fitment clip. Owners may contact the Triumph customer service department at 678-539-8782 for more details and to find out if their bike is affected. If you own any of these bikes, contact your local Triumph dealer immediately
Triumph has further announced that the problem part has been redesigned and tested to prevent problems on future models.

We hope that everyone in the LA area was able to come out to the Lossa Engineering open house this past Sunday. We had a great time hanging out with Jay LaRossa, Eric Bostrom, KROQ, and all the bike enthusiasts. For everyone that wasn’t able to make it to the event, check out what you missed below.

We were saddened to hear that AMA Hall of Famer and motorcycling legend Gary Nixon passed away earlier this month. Nixon died on Aug. 5th in Baltimore while undergoing surgery after suffering from a recent heart attack. He was 70.
As most of you know, Gary Nixon rode a Triumph to Grand National Champion titles in the 60s. In more than two decades of pro racing, Nixon garnered 19 AMA National victories, amongst several other achievements. He was inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 1998 and the Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2003.
A private memorial service is being held tomorrow in Timonium, Md. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Nixon’s name to the Gary Nixon Memorial Fund.
