Thruxton Cup Heads to Road America | June 7-8

The Thruxton Cup Series continues its journey around the country this weekend, stopping at one of the most storied and revered tracks in the United States. The fifth stop on the Thruxton Cup tour takes competitors to the legendary Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI for the ninth and tenth races of the season.

Jerrett Martin, our 2013 Thruxton Cup Champion, started off the season with a bang, winning the first three races and finishing on the podium in several others. By the time the circuit had rolled into Willow Springs in California, however, Motorcyclist Magazine’s Zack Courts joined the fray and immediately established his dominance. Courts has won three races this season as well, but the two contenders must also deal with former racer Jack Pfeifer. Jack took the checkers in a race at Sonoma Raceway and has a pair of second place finishes to go along with it.Who will be the next Thruxton Cup standout? As we’ve seen in the early stages of the season so far, races can be won or lost in a matter of moments. With the bikes being largely comparable in terms of capabilities, it all comes down to the racers and their strengths and weaknesses. Each rider has his or her own style and excels on different parts of the track. This makes for exciting racing as lead changes seem to be continual and final results are often determined on the final lap.
