Triumph Recalls Sprint GT, Tiger 800, Tiger 800XC

Triumph has announced that it is recalling certain model 2011-2012 Sprint GT, Tiger 800 and Tiger 800XC motorcycles due to a top box problem. Only 134 motorcycles have been affected.

The top box locking handle is missing a clip on the locking system for bikes manufactured from June 2010 through 2011. The top box may detach from the bike, increasing the chances of a crash.

Triumph Dealers will install a new fitment clip. Owners may contact the Triumph customer service department at 678-539-8782 for more details and to find out if their bike is affected. If you own any of these bikes, contact your local Triumph dealer immediately

Triumph has further announced that the problem part has been redesigned and tested to prevent problems on future models.
