How to Remove Triumph Street Twin Rear Sprocket

Removing the rear sprocket on your Triumph Street Twin isn't nearly as scary as it sounds. It's great to know how to do if you want to save some money when looking to upgrade to a BC rear sprocket or are redoing your bike's driveline with a complete weekend project. Total time is only about 20 minutes, but make sure you've got a torque wrench for when you reinstall everything!


  • Triumph Street Twin

Tools required:

  • 14mm wrench
  • Torque wrench (for reinstallation)

Total time the job takes:

  • 20 minutes


  • Intermediate

Step 1

Remove rear wheel. If you’re unsure how to do this, refer to the guide on our site’s Resource Center.

Step 2

Use a 14mm socket wrench to remove nuts securing rear sprocket.

Removal complete!

Pull rear sprocket off mounts.
