British Customs is revolutionizing the custom motorcycle scene by offering an extensive list of motorcycle customization parts that can be installed with common tools and minimal technical knowledge by the average motorcyclist. Owning — and creating — a custom motorcycle is now accessible to the common rider: anyone with a vision of a custom motorcycle can now build their own however they want it, instead of having to take it to an elite and expensive chop shop.
"Personalizing your own motorcycle is a highly rewarding and enjoyable experience," stated Jason Panther, President of British Customs. "We want to enrich riders' relationships with their bikes by offering parts they can use to easily customize their own motorcycle in their own garage."
British Customs is also reinventing the way parts are sold by grouping them into pre-sorted packages designed to work together to transform any system on a motorcycle. British Customs calls their packages “Weekend Projects,” because they are designed so that the average rider can install any of them over a Saturday afternoon, and have their bike transformed and ready to show off on their Sunday ride.
To assist riders in navigating their extensive list of options, British Customs has been publishing a growing number of buyer’s guides on their newly redone blog for every system on a motorcycle, including appearance, controls, driveline, handling, lighting, and performance.
British Customs’ parts are modeled after classic designs, and seek to restore a love and respect for craftsmanship and quality. With these retro-inspired designs, riders can customize their motorcycles in classic styles like cafe racers, scramblers, flat trackers, desert sleds, heritage, bobbers, brats, and more. Pioneering the way for the growing New Heritage movement, riders can create entirely custom bikes with these retro-inspired parts mixing and matching styles however they would like.
All of this is made possible by the fact that all the parts in any given package are designed to work together. The complicated guesswork and need for extensive fitment research has been eliminated; all a rider needs to know is what model bike they ride, and what they want to put on their bike.
British Customs’ buyers guides and blog content are likewise designed to work together. Their blog contains numerous stories about the rich and illustrious heritage of motorcycling, highlighting many of the figures, locales, races, and the mindsets underpinning all of which. Through telling these stories, British Customs is breathing new life into old legends. They aren’t working through hearsay only, but through interviewing what legendary figures are still around today, and working in collaboration with them to develop parts that pay homage to their shared past, but made to modern standards.
British Customs has built numerous custom motorcycles styled after many of the abovementioned classic designs. To inspire riders and to honor the community’s heritage, British Customs published the build notes for each of these custom bikes, showing riders how they can similarly customize their own bikes with the same parts, but in whatever style they’d like.
Motorcycle customization has never been so easy nor accessible with these revolutionary approaches to putting it in the hands of the average rider.
